A lot of the inspiration for these comes from Tomoko Fuse’s books on Origami Boxes, including Fabulous Origami Boxes.
Square Boxes
The standard square box is easy to make and is very attractive.
Works well with 15cm origami paper or with ordinary office paper.
Triangular Boxes
Triangular boxes are interesting, but in reality they’re a bit flimsy: it’s also quite difficult to find just the right thing to put into them. Chocolate almonds, perhaps.

Hexagonal Boxes
Hexagonal boxes are great, though they’re a bit hard to make. Persevere, though – preferably with double-sided paper – and the result is well worth the effort.

Octagonal Boxes
Octagonal boxes are beautiful if you design them well; though they can be a bit saggy. This makes things a bit difficult if you want to fill them with chocolates – but if you warn a recipient to handle things with care, these boxes are obviously very desirable.
